Mirror of the Mind
A devotee once came to Sai Baba with a question in his mind. He did not speak of it. He felt it was better to observe first and ask later, if needed.
As he sat among others, he watched Baba quietly. Outwardly, nothing unusual was happening. People came and went. Conversations rose and fell. Baba sat as he always did. The devotee remained silent, holding his question within.
After some time, Baba turned toward him and spoke. The words were simple. Yet, they answered the very thought the devotee had not expressed.
For a moment, he was unsure. Had he spoken aloud without realizing it? But no, he had not said anything. The answer had come without the question being asked. He looked at Baba again. Nothing had changed.
There was no indication that anything unusual had taken place. Yet, what he had held privately was no longer his alone. From that moment, he did not feel the need to test or question further.
Moral
What we hold within is not unseen to one who sees beyond words.
