Offering with No Thought
Megha was a simple man. He was deeply devoted to Sai Baba and saw him as nothing less than Lord Shiva. His devotion was not based on learning or reasoning. It came from a place that did not question. Every day, he would bring water to bathe Baba, just as one would do for a deity.
On one occasion, he wished to perform a proper ritual bath using sacred water from a distant place. He walked a long distance to bring it, carrying it carefully with great effort.
When he reached Baba, he requested permission to offer the bath. Baba agreed. With full devotion, Megha poured the water over Baba’s head. Yet, to his surprise, only Baba’s head became wet. The rest of the body remained almost dry.
Megha did not question it. For him, the act itself was enough. He had come with devotion, and he had offered it. Baba watched him quietly.
There was no explanation, no discussion. What Megha carried was not ritual alone, but something deeper, something that did not depend on outcome or understanding.
