A devotee came to Sai Baba with a pressing concern. He had been facing a difficulty for some time and had tried to resolve it in different ways. Nothing seemed to work. With hope, he came to Baba, expecting that things would change.

He spoke of his situation and waited. Baba listened. There was no immediate reply. The devotee stayed on for a few days, expecting that something would happen. Each day passed like the one before. Nothing changed. The problem remained.

His mind began to move between trust and doubt. “If Baba knows, why does he not act?”

“If help is there, why is it delayed?”

Still, he stayed. One day, without any new request from the devotee, Baba spoke,

“Why this impatience? Wait.”

There was no explanation. The words were simple, but they settled something within him. For the first time, he stopped looking ahead. He remained where he was, without pushing for an outcome.

In time, the situation that troubled him began to shift on its own. When it resolved, he returned to Baba, not with questions, but with understanding. What he had asked for was not denied. It had only not been given when he expected it.

Moral

When faith is tested, waiting becomes part of the answer.
