The Step He Did Not Take

One day, a devotee was bitten by a snake. Fear spread quickly among those around him. Some urged him to go to a doctor at once. Others spoke of remedies and quick actions. Amid the confusion, the devotee thought only of Sai Baba. He was taken toward the mosque.

As he approached, Baba saw him from a distance. In a firm voice, Baba said,

“Do not climb up!”

The words were unexpected. The man stopped.

Those with him were puzzled. Why prevent him from coming closer at such a moment? But the devotee did not question. He stayed where he was.

After some time, Baba called him again, this time allowing him to come forward. The fear had begun to settle. The urgency that had filled the moment slowly faded. No harm came to him. What could have turned into panic had passed quietly.

Baba did not offer any explanation. For those who witnessed it, the event was simple. For the one who obeyed, it was enough.

Moral

Trust is not in seeking help, but in following it without doubt.
